Q. Why does lead flashing fail?
Usually, it was the wrong gauge, fixed badly, or simply old. Lead expands and contracts with temperature, and if it’s too long or poorly dressed, it can crack or lift over time.
Q. Can you just repair the lead rather than replace it?
Sometimes a repair is enough. We’ll assess whether the existing lead has life left in it or whether replacement is the more sensible option
