Q. How do I know if my render needs replacing rather than repairing?
Tap test: if large areas sound hollow, the render has ‘blown’ and is no longer bonded to the wall — that usually means replacement. Isolated cracks can often be repaired. We’ll check it for you.
Q. Can I change the finish when I re-render?
Yes — re-rendering is the ideal time to switch, for example, from dated pebbledash to a smooth silicone render or a fresh roughcast.
