Strip away failed, cracked, or tired roughcast and replace it with a fresh, clean, weatherproof finish.
Old render doesn’t last forever. Over the years it can crack, blow (come away from the wall), stain, or simply look dated. Once it starts to fail it stops doing its job — and water getting behind failed render can cause damp problems in the walls.
We strip off the old, failed finish, make good the surface underneath, and re-render or re-roughcast the property to a fresh, clean standard. It’s one of the most transformative things you can do to an older home.
We inspect the failing finish and the wall beneath it.
We quote for the strip and the new finish.
The old render is removed and the surface prepared.
New basecoat and beads are applied.
The new topcoat finish is applied and dashed or smoothed as chosen.
Everything is cleaned down and cleared away.
Tap test: if large areas sound hollow, the render has ‘blown’ and is no longer bonded to the wall — that usually means replacement. Isolated cracks can often be repaired. We’ll check it for you.
Yes — re-rendering is the ideal time to switch, for example, from dated pebbledash to a smooth silicone render or a fresh roughcast.
